Description

This is not your average walking tour.

Explore haunted buildings and hidden cemeteries with a flashlight. Hear ghost stories involving Mark Twain, Aaron Burr, Edgar Allan Poe, Washington Irving, Thomas Paine, John LaFarge, the Shadow, Clement Clarke Moore, Mayor Jimmy Walker, Lee Chumley, Patrolman Schwartz and other apparitions.

Among the haunting stories you will encounter:

  • The converted stable where the ghost of Aaron Burr is said to lurk, though some believe it may be his daughter, Theodosia, lost at sea in a shipwreck
  • The park that conceals hundreds, possibly thousands, of bodies beneath its grounds
  • The woman who reported being tickled by a feather at 3 a.m. inside a building with a dark history
  • The artist whose mural slid from a church wall at the exact moment of his death, miles away
  • The final confirmed sighting of Judge Crater, known in his day as "The Missingest Man in New York"
  • A suspected former opium den where a mayor once housed his mistress, and where Howdy Doody's creator heard mysterious banging inside the walls
  • Nineteenth-century spirits that witnesses still report hearing on the staircase of a historic theater
  • The former speakeasy where the original owner is said to have placed a lasting curse on the jukebox

Use observation and teamwork to solve the hunt; no traditional ghost repellents are needed.
