Description
Our cooking parties provide a fun and interactive way for business colleagues to bond outside of work. They also provide a creative and social way to celebrate personal milestones like birthdays and pre-wedding festivities.
We run fully hands-on cooking parties and pride ourselves on teaching participants how to cook from start to finish; nary an onion is peeled for you before we begin. A better sense of satisfaction and greater learning (and fun!) comes from creating a meal in its entirety and then sitting down to enjoy it with your group.
Event Itinerary:
- Once all guests have arrived and everyone is ready to start cooking (usually 15 minutes after you arrive), we'll gather everyone for an informal discussion about the menu we'll be preparing so everyone knows what to expect. The classes are geared to be hands-on, but we acknowledge that some people will want to be in on all the action while others will prefer to mingle and watch. Both of these scenarios are fine!
- The cooking class portion generally runs about 1 1/2 hours. Guests will all work together if you have a group of 10 or less. With larger groups, a second chef will join the fun and the group will be split into two.
- We'll start by preparing an hors d'oeuvre recipe and pass it around to the group during the class to snack on, assuring that no one is distracted by an empty stomach during the cooking class. Then we'll get to cooking!
- Once the food is ready to eat, we will set up a buffet with all your dishes. The dining room will be set and ready for everyone sit down and enjoy the meal they prepared. We'll serve dessert after we clear your dinner dishes, and you are welcome to linger as long as you like (although we do have a 10:30pm curfew for all parties).
What You Will Make / Go Home With:
Each guest will go home with:
- A recipe packet will be emailed to the host to share with guests, which will include recipes based on the ones created at the event.
About the Instructor:
We (Jennifer, John, and Erica) love people, and we love food, and we love to teach people all about food. Our enthusiasm and knowledge is infectious and we make sure to create an atmosphere of fun, peppered with culinary tips to improve everyone's kitchen game.
About the Venue:
Our kitchen is a mix of vintage, modern, and industrial. We have combined the functionality of a commercial teaching kitchen (22 feet of butcher block and stainless steel work tables, metal counter stools, and every possible piece of cooking equipment) tempered with the warmth of home (wooden farm table, blown-glass and enamel pendant lights, massive skylight over the dining area). We can comfortably accommodate up to 16 people for a cooking class and sit-down meal. We can also rent a larger, similarly-appointed kitchen around the corner from us, that can host up to 35 people.
Please note: the price shown is all-inclusive and includes tax & gratuity
