Description

A New York guide shares neighborhood history along the route.

About Our Greenwich Village Walking Food Tour:

Your guide will take you through Washington Square Park, where the famous arch and fountain serve as the neighborhood's beating heart, with film buffs noting the locations made famous in "When Harry Met Sally...," "I Am Legend," "Searching for Bobby Fischer," and "August Rush," among others. The tour continues into the West Village, often described as the most serene and residential section of Manhattan, where you will see the longest-running Off-Broadway theatre, the narrowest house in the city, its oldest surviving residence, and the former home of Washington Irving. And yes, "Friends" fans will get their moment at the building that served as the exterior of the show's beloved apartment.

Of course, this tour is also about the food. Every stop is chosen for quality, character, and authenticity.

Some of our stops (subject to change):

Mamoun's Falafel

  • Since 1971, Mamoun's has been synonymous with exceptional Middle Eastern food in New York City. As the oldest Middle Eastern restaurant in the city, their falafel sandwich remains one of the most satisfying bites you can have for under five dollars in Manhattan.

Artichoke Pizza

  • Artichoke Basille's has been a downtown institution since 2008, earning national attention, including appearances on The Tonight Show and The Rachael Ray Show. Their signature artichoke slice is a double-crusted, cream-sauce marvel that has no equivalent anywhere else in the city.

Bleecker Street Pizza

  • Named the best pizza in New York City by The Food Network for three consecutive years, Bleecker Street Pizza makes a flavorful, thin-crust slice using authentic ingredients and traditional methods. The Nonna Maria slice is the one to get.

Molly's Cupcakes

  • An award-winning cupcake shop with a genuine sense of community purpose. Inspired by a beloved third-grade teacher, Molly's donates a portion of its profits to local schools. Try Ms. Molly's classic recipe or build your own custom cupcake from a nearly endless list of options.

Pomme Frites

  • If you have never had genuine Belgian-style double-cooked frites, Pomme Frites is the place to change that. With more than 30 dipping sauces on offer, the experience is unlike any fry you have had before.

Faicco's

  • This long-beloved Italian deli is a Greenwich Village cornerstone. On this tour, you will sample their arancini (crispy rice balls) and sopressata (house-cured Italian salami), a combination that perfectly captures the spirit of the neighborhood's Italian heritage.

Customization option:

  • Add beer and wine to the experience for an additional $10 per person.

Note: Your exact meeting location will be included in your confirmation email.
