Get to know your colleagues through fast-paced team icebreakers:

  • Did you know a team member speaks four different languages fluently?
  • Did you know someone on your team is a passionate tea connoisseur during their spare time?

The series includes four events with different themes:

  1. Get To Know Your Teammates; The goal is to gradually learn more about the people you work with daily and appreciate their unique qualities.
  2. Get To Know Your Teammates; Shared Passions; This experience encourages diving deeper into shared interests and discovering what genuinely connects your group together.
  3. Get To Know Your Teammates; Our Differences are Our Strengths; This session celebrates how differences make your team stronger and demonstrates that despite being unique, nobody is alone.
  4. Get To Know Your Teammates; Collaborating Together; This final experience focuses on working together effectively by leveraging everything each person knows and contributes to the table.

Lightning Rounds Format; 20 Minutes

Use a personalized prompt list to interview teammates in breakout rooms of 2 to 3 people. After 3 minutes, rotate to another room. Repeat to meet several colleagues and complete as many prompts as possible.

Group Sharing Session; 10 Minutes

Reconvene to share discoveries, stories, and humorous moments. The format helps longtime coworkers and new hires connect.

    Thank you for the opportunity to share our feedback and suggestions. First of all, Yael was great! Our participants were polled, and the event received an 8 out of 10 overall rating and are 88% likely to recommend to colleagues. We will be moving forward with including CourseHorse events in our 2023 program. Opportunities for improvement: The note pad/template: If the provided template is just to be used as a note pad, perhaps we can do without it. It was confusing. The scoring section to the right and readability of the document were challenging. Shy participants not engaging: We had a LOT of shy people in this group and the started ‘chatting’ their input instead of talking. Some of this may our company culture, as they want to talk over each other. Suggestion for these two first bullet points: We think supplying a simple list of the Q’s, easy to read quickly and scan, plus instruction that each person is to choose a question - would give individuals the opportunity to participate, as opposed to shrink into the background ANS eliminate the confusion with the note pad/template. Slow down the instructions at the top of the event. Even though it will take more time, checking to make sure every participant is clicking and following along would be great. VPN challenges. Maybe we are the only remote team using VPN… so this may be just and “US” issue. Suggestion is to add a mention at the top to sign out of the VPN. Nice quotes: “The Ice Breaker event was super fun and forced us to take time to socialize and shake off work mode; yael had great energy and liked the music in the beginning. appreciate prompting people to unmute and talk as opposed to drop in chat.” “Loved the Ice Breaker event, would be so happy to do it again (and tbh I was dreading this, I thought it would be so awkward, but it was actually SO FUN)” “The questions were really interesting and made for good conversations.”

    Our team really enjoyed the format of the games. We did 2 back to back events; our host was engaging and did a great job. I also appreciated that everyone was so flexible in using Google Meet which was a requirement for us b/c we work for Google. They did test runs and met with us beforehand to ensure everything went smoothly. Overall a great experience.

    I signed up for “Get to know your teammates” as a way to bring two companies together to celebrate and prepare for our transition from a “customer/vendor” relationship to a true partnership. With the travel limitations imposed on us by the pandemic, our goal was to find a fun way for both teams to build rapport and perhaps even friendships prior to kicking off our joint business venture in a virtual way. This IceBreaker game did exactly that! Not only did both teams have fun, but it gave us the opportunity to learn about each other at all levels (as in, mid-level ranks got to interact with VP-level and grow those bonds) and let our hair down a bit. CourseHorse brought professional, well-prepared moderators to lead the games and tee up the lively discussions and it was a breeze to set up and coordinate with them. I’d highly recommend to any business looking to build rapport with their internal and external teams!
