All levels. Students will learn/review basic Tahitian beats and will drum for the Ori Tahiti class. Students should purchase sticks and eventually their own toere.
This course is for the absolute adult beginning guitarist. Students will be introduced to the basics of guitar playing and music fundamentals by learning fun pop and classic rock songs. Students will need to have their own acoustic guitar.
A brief history of taiko is presented, and participants learn a song based on fundamental stance, rhythms, and technique. No taiko experience is necessary, but participants must be capable of fairly rigorous physical activity.
The OYAKO Workshop is geared towards students aged 7-13 and their parents/guardians. Parent and child will work together to learn the basics of SJT-style taiko playing!
Tahitian Drumming (Youth) (Boys and Girls ages 6-12 years) This is a 30 minute class detailing the different beats. At 6:15, youth drummers may also drum with the adults from 6:15-7:15 during the mixed level Ori Tahiti class (Tahitian dance).
This class we'll cover all of the basics of beginning mandolin in this introductory class. Both soloing and chord playing will be studied with focus on establishing good fundamentals with the pick as well as proper left-hand technique.
