Description
This hands-on mosaic workshop is an ideal introduction to working with glass and tile to create a striking piece of functional home decor or wall art. Students choose between a small wooden picture frame or a shadow box as their base, then design and lay their mosaic using an assortment of stained glass, mirror pieces, and various found materials. Pieces are assembled using the direct method of mosaic fabrication, with thin-set mortar as the adhesive.
No experience is required, and all materials are included, though participants are welcome to bring supplemental materials if they have a particular element in mind. BYOB is welcome, making this a relaxed and social creative outing suitable for groups and individuals alike.
