Description
Learn Python programming, data analysis and visualization, statistical reasoning and introductory predictive modeling in this Data Science Bootcamp.
Python Fundamentals
Begin with statements, expressions, variables, data types, list indexing and slicing, functions, methods and object-oriented programming. Practice building programs in IDLE.
Set up your development environment and work with strings, lists, dictionaries and tuples, learning when to use each data structure.
Structuring Programs
The second module dives into conditional logic and control flow. You'll master If/Else statements, Boolean operations, and multiple loop types, gaining command over the decision-making logic that powers most real-world programs. You'll also practice writing reusable functions, working with dictionaries, iterating over data with for loops, and importing and using external packages.
Arrays and Dataframes
The third module shifts toward applied data science tooling. You'll be introduced to NumPy and Pandas for importing, cleaning, and managing data programmatically. The focus here is on working with Pandas DataFrames: wrangling messy data into shape and generating descriptive statistics to understand your dataset.
Analyzing and Visualizing Data
With clean data in hand, you'll learn to analyze and visualize it using Pandas, NumPy, and Matplotlib. This module covers filtering and grouping data, pivot tables, exploratory data analysis techniques, and the creation of bar charts, histograms, and advanced visualizations to communicate your findings clearly.
Linear Regression
The final module introduces the statistical and mathematical foundations of machine learning, covering data science workflows, the importance of unbiased training data, and the process of building, training, and evaluating your first predictive models using linear regression.
