Learn screen printing in a beginner-friendly workshop using a garment you already own. Bring an item from your wardrobe; no prior experience or new clothing purchase is needed.

With more than 15 playful and eye-catching modular designs available to choose from, you can mix and match design elements any way you like to create something that is entirely your own. Your host will walk you through the ink-pulling process and coach you as you create clean, professional-looking image transfers on your shirt, sweatshirt, or jacket.

Remade in Chicago is an upcycling studio with a strong sustainability focus. When choosing a garment to bring, shop your own closet or visit your favorite thrift store. Fabrics that work best are 100% cotton or cotton blends. Avoid materials that are very stretchy or heavily textured, as they can interfere with clean ink transfer.

The session will include a discussion of screen design and prep for anyone curious about those steps, though the preparation process itself is not performed during the workshop. If you have a custom design request, please reach out to us directly before the event.

What Is Included:

All printing materials, inks, and equipment are provided. Participants bring their own garments.
Between one and three hosts will be present, depending on group size.
Non-alcoholic beverages are provided throughout the session.

Session Schedule:

:00 Welcome and introductions
:10 Your host introduces all tools, stations, and materials, delivers a screen printing demonstration, and gives participants time to handle the equipment and practice the technique
:20 Participants choose their designs and ink colors and prepare their garments for printing
:30 Participants take turns printing on their garments, rotating through the drying station, and assisting each other. Participants are welcome to print on both sides and layer multiple designs as desired.
:80 The printing station winds down, and participants complete final drying before the session closes
