Learn the art of screen printing while you transform a t-shirt or sweatshirt you already own (any color) into one-of-a-kind wearable art! This workshop is perfect for beginners and requires no previous experience. You’ll learn screen printing basics and leave with a unique upcycled tee ready to show off. Over 15 bold and playful modular designs will be available for you to choose from, and you can mix and match them any way you like. Your host will demonstrate and coach you in the ink-pulling process to create beautiful image transfers onto your shirt.

Remade in Chicago is an upcycling studio with a sustainability focus. When selecting shirts to bring to the workshop, please bring something you already own or shop your favorite thrift store. 100% cotton or cotton blends work great. Avoid anything super stretchy or textured.

We'll talk about how to design and prep a screen for printing if any guests are curious, but those steps will not be performed during the workshop. If you have a custom design request, please reach out to us directly.

What's Included:

All materials except shirts will be provided.

Event Itinerary:

:00 Welcome & Introductions
:10 Host delivers intro to the tools, stations, materials, and screen printing demonstration. Guests handle the tools and practice using them.
:20 Guests choose designs and ink color, prep their shirt for printing.
:30 Guests take turns printing on their shirts, taking them to the drying station, and assisting each other. Guests are welcome to print as much as they like on both sides of the shirt, layering designs, etc.
:80 Printing station winds down and guests complete final drying.
