In this hands-on class, you’ll learn how to combine oils, water and other ingredients to create smooth, moisturizing lotions from scratch.

We’ll walk through the lotion-making process step by step so you understand not only how to make a lotion, but why each ingredient is included.

You’ll learn:

How lotions and creams are formulated
The role of oils, butters, emulsifiers and humectants
Why preservatives are necessary in water-based skincare products
How to safely incorporate preservatives into your formula
How different oils affect the feel of your finished lotion
Where to source ingredients and supplies
Basic labeling considerations for personal use or retail

Whether you want to make lotion for yourself or you're interested in creating products to sell, this class will give you a practical introduction to lotion formulation.

Refund Policy

No Refund:

All payments are non-refundable. If you find that you will not be able to attend a class please refer your options below.

Rescheduling/Full Credit:

Please contact [email protected] to reschedule a class for any reason to another class being offered.
You can reschedule a class as long 8 business days advance notice is given.

Partial Credit:

If you need to cancel a class and it is less than 8 business days before the registered class but more than 3 business days before the scheduled class a 50% credit can be applied to registering to another class being offered.

No Show:

If you do not show up for a class for any reason your class registration is NON-REFUNDABLE, NON-Transferable and NO CREDIT will be given toward any future class.

In any event where a customer wants to cancel their enrollment and is eligible for a full refund, a 5% processing fee will be deducted from the refund amount.
