Let the clay tell you what to make in this liberating pottery/ceramics discovery workshop! Many of us have "ideas" of what we want to make and that's fine, and we will guide you to reach your goals through basic hand-building and wheel-throwing techniques. The fun part is what else happens - when you let something more fluid lead you around the bend away from expectation and toward freedom of expression.

Come gather with friends, peers, colleagues and family to focus on process over product through the earthiest medium. You will pick up your finished works in 3-6 weeks and forever treasure them as artifacts from your time at Blue Barn City Farm.

Event itinerary:

Meet and Greet - 10min Share with your instructors and teammates your experience and ideas. Ask questions, grab aprons and tools. Quick class overview including studio policies.
Cut your clay and smoosh it into a ball- 10min may be everyone's favorite part of class! Use a wire or other method to slice through a solid block of clay and weigh out specific amounts based on your 1st project, then slap it, throw it down, smoosh, whack, pinch, roll into a ball.
Make Stuff -1.5hr The rest of the time is for creating! Each participant gets to experience throwing a small piece on the potter's wheel. Guides hover appropriately for any support and questions.
