Description

In this weekend intensive you will learn and practice Laban's vocabulary in action. Participants will learn to describe movement in detail and lead students in a movement experience. We will explore systems of reference, spatial directions, actions, space measurement, paths, and dynamics. Having a full vocabulary at your fingertips will help to improve your observation and communication skills.

Reading will be assigned before the start of the course so that all participants begin with a fundamental understanding of the concepts of the workshop.

Through the weekend you will learn how to:

  • Increase your movement observation skills
  • Learn how to better describe movements using the Laban framework
  • Apply your new language skills to describing movement and in guiding people through movement
  • Learn at least 3 ways to describe the same movement

Refund Policy

  • Cancellations made at least 2 business days in advance of the class will be honored with a refund less 5% cancellation fee.
  • Students who cancel less than 2 business days prior to the start time of the class will receive a credit towards a future class.

In any event where a customer wants to cancel their enrollment and is eligible for a full refund, a 5% processing fee will be deducted from the refund amount.
