Learn colorful pottery making in this 8-week ceramics course in NYC!
This listing is for the Friday night two-hour class that meets from 6-8pm. This class runs for eight consecutive weeks starting with the first class date.
Clay is such an exciting and creative medium to work with and adding color makes it so much more interesting! In this class you will learn the fundamentals of mixing and preparing your own colored clay and then how to throw it on the wheel for really beautiful effects. Some traditional methods include nerikomi, neriage, agateware, scroddleware, and nemadji. This class is a really fun opportunity to not only explore color in clay but also to experience wheel throwing, some hand techniques, mason stains and porcelain all in one term.
