A quick start in spinning your own yarn. This class will give you a chance to try spinning before taking Donna Panner's 4-week class.
In this 2 session workshop, students will learn the basics of tapestry weaving and how to design and hand weave their own tapestry wall hanging.
Students will continue their knowledge of weaving techniques, further exploring woven design options, through experimenting with color and texture.
In this workshop, students will create their own loom and woven art pieces straight from found natural materials, such as twigs, bark, natural fibers, plants, etc.
Discover loom-controlled shibori—the ability to created a patterned resist with the use of supplemental warp or weft threads.
Students choose to either focus on double weave techniques, or creating their own pattern draft and completing yardage for future use.
Focus on weaving theory and drafts. Through working on your own project and loom, you will go in depth with complex draft reading, as well as writing your own draft for a pattern.
