Teaches at General Assembly

Taq Karim is currently Principal Software Engineer at Oracle, where he works on Moat - a third party attribution service for programmatic advertisements. Previously, Taq was Tech Lead of the demand side (DSP) team at Placeexchange, a programmatic advertising exchange platform for out of home media. He also moonlights as a lecturer, currently he is an Adjunct Professor at Baruch College where he teaches a graduate level course on technologies for managing Big Data. In the past, he has led workshops and courses on a wide variety of topics (frontend / backend) in institutions such as Coalition 4 Queens (now Pursuit), The Startup Institute, NYCDA, OneMonth, The King's College and Columbia Splash. In his spare time, Taq is usually thinking about math, building software, working on hardware hacks for home automation or hanging out with his cat, Layla Karim.

In recognition of his exemplary service in the classroom, Taq has been selected as a member of General Assembly's Distinguished Faculty program. Taq serves as a member of the GA Python Product Advisory Board.

Gianluca is a Data Scientist at Microsoft and Director of Estimand, a consulting and training company working with academic and commercial customers. He has trained hundreds of students and professionals in coding and data science, and has spoken at many industry conferences and events. His background is in Mathematics/Statistics and Computer Science. He also holds a PhD in Biostatistics from Imperial College London, an MSc in Applied Mathematics from Universidade NOVA de Lisboa, and a BSc in Computer Science from the Free University of Bozen-Bolzano.

In recognition of his exemplary service in the classroom, Gianluca has been selected as a member of General Assembly's Distinguished Faculty program.

As a self-taught software engineer who began learning to code after graduating college, Mary is incredibly passionate about helping others embark on a similar journey. She began as an Executive Assistant to the CTO at Warby Parker, and thanks to relentless determination and mentorship from colleagues, she worked her way into a full-time position as a software engineer on Warby Parker's Tech Ops team.

Mary focuses on making code and engineering more accessible. She loves the challenge of explaining complicated technical concepts in simple terms that anyone can understand, and spends lots of time thinking about how to write code as efficient and readable as possible.

As a mentor on the JavaScript Circuit, she gets to help beginners, and watch students gain tons of knowledge over the course of just 10 weeks.

In recognition of her exemplary service in the classroom, Mary has been selected as a member of General Assembly's Distinguished Faculty program.
