Jeffrey Chappell (Classical Piano, Jazz Piano, Jazz Theory, Improvisation) b. Saint Louis, Missouri. M.M., Piano Performance, Peabody Conservatory; B.M., Piano Performance, Curtis Institute of Music. Mr. Chappell's teachers include Leon Fleisher, Rudolf Serkin, Eleanor Sokoloff, and Jane Allen. He has performed throughout Europe, Asia, Latin America, and the United States in recitals, chamber music, radio broadcasts, and jazz gigs. He has been a soloist with major symphony orchestras such as Philadelphia, St. Louis, Pittsburgh, Houston, and Indianapolis, and has made over forty appearances with the Baltimore Symphony, including concerts at Carnegie Hall and Wolf Trap. He has also appeared at summer festivals including Marlboro and the La Gesse Festival. He is a recording artist on the Telarc, Centaur, Albany, and MMC labels. Mr. Chappell is also a prizewinning composer of works integrating jazz and classical music. He is Director of Jazz Studies at Goucher College in Baltimore, Maryland and also runs a middle and high school summer jazz camp there. He is the founder of Music Everybody, a seminar series for the total musician. He served as a contributing editor for Piano&Keyboard Magazine.
