I loved the lessons. The instructor had me explore songs and artists that I never heard of before, even though they were quite famous, I just haven't been exposed to it. It was so helpful to play actual songs, such as Everly Brothers' "Dream" and how he broke down the first part of "Over the Hills and Far Away" from Led Zeppelin.

The few voice lessons I had with Erica went very well. She is clearly an experienced and wonderful teacher. After my first class through CourseHorse I signed up for a "set" of four more voice lessons with her. I attended two of these additional lessons which went fine. At the end of these lessons I would ask Erica if she was available next week at the same time and she would tell me I had to schedule it through email with Joria productions. When I tried to schedule through email I received no answer sometimes for weeks at a time. However eventually I received an email saying I had failed to show up for the other two lessons and would lose the $100 I paid for them for being a no-show. In reality I had no idea these lessons were scheduled at all. I have tried to resolve this over the phone with John but he has insisted that I cannot be refunded the $100 I paid for lessons I did not attend despite there was absolutely no indication that these lessons were scheduled at all. I find it completely ridiculous that I am being punished for some sort of miscommunication between the teacher and the school. I never had any direct contact with the teacher outside of the lessons, she has my number but I do not have hers. If she was told there was a lesson with me then the school would have had to tell her that. She told me I had to schedule with them and would not give me an affirmative in person when I asked if we would be meeting at the same time the next week as is the policy when buying a set of lessons. And yet when I emailed them to ask about my next lessons I would get no response. John showed absolutely no willingness to work with me to solve this problem effectively and seemed perfectly fine leaving me out $100 for something that was not my fault. He repeated the same things to me over and over instead of making an honest attempt to solve the problem in a way that would benefit all parties. So while there's nothing wrong with the lessons themselves, I would recommend staying away from an unsympathetic business that is unable to communicate effectively with both employees and customers.
