What you'll learn in this writing class:

Learn how to write a book review that reads like an essay, going beyond simple recitation of plot to artfully deliver a critical assessment. This workshop will guide participants through how to structure the review; the introductory paragraph (the hook); coherent plot summary; criticism; and a strong conclusion. By the end of the workshop the participants will have incorporated their writing and critical reading skills to produce a compelling review that is also a stand-alone essay. Come to class already having read the book that you plan to review.
