Tulip Magnolia Time At The Smithsonian Castle

Some of the best “photo ops” in the nation’s capital are available right outside the door of the Smithsonian Castle, the heart of the Smithsonian Institution, ESPECIALLY when the magnificent pink tulip magnolias pop into bloom in the adjoining Enid Haupt Gardens!

This photo safari, led by architectural photographer and Washington Photo Safari director E. David Luria, will train you in the techniques of travel photography and help you capture the most picturesque angles on the Castle building itself, in the magnificent Enid Haupt Gardens, at the adjoining Arts and Industries Building, the Museum of African Art, the Sackler Gallery of Near East and Asian Art, the Hirshhorn Sculpture Garden, on the National Mall, and at the National Gallery of Art’s National Sculpture Garden. Your camera will come home with carefully composed images of flowers, of a twirling carousel full of giggling children, unique contemporary and classic statuary, and lovely views of the Washington Monument and the US Capitol in the afternoon sun.

Any camera will do, film or digital, and all skill levels are invited to attend.
