Class Description
Description
The seafood industry of the Chesapeake Bay has a long and storied past. Each year in St. Michaels, Maryland, the Chesapeake watermen and their heritage is celebrated through food, crafts, entertainment and the much anticipated Boat Docking Competition.
In addition, on display around the campus are examples of the old wooden boats that harvested the Bay’s bounty.
Come along with Kim Kelly and learn how to capture this fun event whether it’s from atop a lighthouse, zooming in on a steaming pot of crabs, or shooting the action of the boat docking rodeo. Kim is a member of CBMM knows the campus quite well so you are bound to get some interesting images.
Teaching Points:
- Learn the elements of good story telling through your images
- Action photography
- People photography
Recommended Gear: A DSLR or Mirrorless camera with lenses in the range form 24-70mm.
There is an entrance fee to the event of $18-$20 (not included in the price of the class. Tickets can be purchased at the gate.

- A refund or a credit towards another class (less a $20 processing fee) can be given if cancellation notice is given more than 6 business days from the scheduled class.

If the school cancels or postpones a class due to weather or low enrollment, you can choose a full refund or a credit towards a future class.
In any event where a customer wants to cancel their enrollment and is eligible for a full refund, a 5% processing fee will be deducted from the refund amount.
