Description
Explore the Japanese tea culture to discover how offering and receiving a bowl of tea provides a model for mindful living in a turbulent world.
The East-West Center offers university and community chanoyu classes and special workshops and events. Notable civic contributions include facilitating the building of tea houses at the Seattle Japanese Garden, the Seattle Art Museum and the Everett Community College.
The East-West Chanoyu Center has much to offer and everyone is welcomed, regardless of experience. All events are conducted in English and Japanese.
The Center is located in a three-story townhouse in the Hawthorne Hills neighborhood near Seattle Children's Hospital. It has an eight tatami mat tearoom, a four-and-a-half tatami mat tearoom, a table tearoom, and a garden.
