What you'll learn in this kids art class:

In this series, we will review the history and regional styles of Street Art and also learn how to develop and refine your own tag style. In Street Art Part 1, you will learn how the basics of how to tag, create bubble letters and draw characters. We will also be covering a very brief intro to the history of tagging, bubble letters, and characters. In Street Art Part 2, Defining Your Style, you will revisit tagging and bubble letters but will also learn how to create complex street art pieces (masterpieces).

Part 1:

Class 1: Intro, Learn to draw, and Brief history of tagging
Class 2: Learn to draw and Brief history of Bubble letters
Class 3: Learn to draw and Brief history of characters

Part 2:

Class 4: Tagging, and bubble letters revisited, defining your style
Class 5: Learn how to create straight letters + perspective
Class 6: Learn how to funk your style and create Masterpieces

Materials List:

  • Composition book
  • Sketchpad (any brand / style- size + shape are not important but larger books are easier to draw in)
  • Pencil (any)
  • Eraser (Kneadable preferred)
  • Micron pen 08
  • Sharpie chisel tip medium (or equivalent chisel tip marker)
  • Highlighter marker or yellow marker (any light color is fine)
  • Basic set of markers (8/10/12 colors any brand)

How To Participate:

You will receive an email 30 minutes before class starts with a link to the class and access instructions.

Remote Learning

This course is available for "remote" learning and will be available to anyone with access to an internet device with a microphone (this includes most models of computers, tablets). Classes will take place with a "Live" instructor at the date/times listed below.

Upon registration, the instructor will send along additional information about how to log-on and participate in the class.

Refund Policy
When class/workshop enrollment is below the minimum five days prior to the first day of class, the class may be cancelled. If there is a cancellation, we will contact registered students at least 4 days before the start of the class/workshop by email or by phone.

We will offer students the option to transfer into another class or receive a full refund for the amount paid.

Classes are not refunded due to failure to attend class, planned absences, minor illnesses, or vacations.

If you drop a class:
  • You will receive a 100% refund minus a $15 administrative fee if you drop a class at least 7 days before it starts. 
  • You will receive a 50% refund minus a $15 administrative fee if you drop a class after this point but before the second day of class. 
  • There are no refunds after the second class.
If you drop a workshop:
  • You will receive a 100% refund minus a $15 administrative fee if you drop a class at least 7 days before it starts. No refunds or credit will be given after this point.
