What you'll learn in this massage class:

This two-day 14 hour muscle testing class aims to make you a more effective and efficient therapist by giving you a much needed window into the neurology of the neuromuscular system. A manual muscle test can quickly inform the practitioner of the nervous system’s ability to recruit a muscle or muscle pattern. This is information that visual assessment and palpation skills cannot provide. This added “neuro” component is an invaluable diagnostic tool that will help the practitioner quickly identify the areas of dysfunction and efficiently hone in on the area(s) of treatment.

Some of the most cutting-edge bodywork techniques require practitioners to have experience in manual muscle testing. In addition to providing you with an essential diagnostic tool-kit, this course will also lay an essential foundation for therapists who want to focus their career on neuromuscular bodywork.

In the Intro to Muscle Testing and Functional Anatomy class, you will:
  • Learn the fundamentals of muscle testing
  • Sharpen functional anatomical knowledge
  • Enhance palpation skills
  • Learn how muscles work in systems and “slings”
  • Understand the relationship between applied kinesiology and massage therapy/bodywork
  • Use manual muscle testing to better understand the interplay of stability and mobility in joints
No Prerequisite. Bring two sheets to class.
