Instructor Gilad

Teaches at El Camino College

Gilad grew up in Jerusalem, Israel and moved to Los Angeles in 2008. He graduated Musicians Institute in one year and won the prestigious ‘outstanding player’ award; a few months earlier he won 2nd place at the Stanley Clarke competition (presented by Stanley Clarke and members of Earth, Wind and Fire). During his time in LA he was fortunate enough to teach hundreds of students from many different backgrounds and was able to hone his skills as an educator. Gilad also had the honor to study and perform with renowned musicians (Bob Mintzer, Russell Ferrante, Allen Hinds) and perform in legendary venues such as the Wiltern, Broad stage and the House of Blues.

Upon moving to Boston to attend Berklee College of Music, he toured Europe with his own group and released a trio album, produced by Javier Limón (Paco de Lucia). Joined by Harmonica extraordinaire Roni Eytan (Danilo Perez), they went on an extensive tour performing in Spain, Turkey, Israel and Greece. The group fused traditional music from the Mediterranean with elements of Jazz, folk and world music.

Gilad loves teaching any style, any age and has a passion for both Electric and Acoustic guitar. In NYC, He also keeps busy recording and playing with various artists (Nella Rojas, Omid) and composing for his own group.
