Teacher does not speak English no one understand what she is saying

It was good

This class lacked enthusiasm and the instructor talked quickly and didn't seem concerned with our experience. It would have been ok for $10.

Very enjoyable and relaxing

It was a bit difficult to understand the instructor but the students were able to interpret/translate the concepts. There are different levels of students there, making it an interesting class. As a first time beginner, there were only 3 of us and so instructions were pretty much one to one. It is an art to be appreciated and if interested, learned.

I felt rushed and the instructor spoke very poor English so it was difficult to understand.

The flowers were not fresh. They were use over in the class for a different design. I don't think appropriate flowers were used.

The instructor was very nice, and worked with me one-on-one. However this class was loosely structured and beginner level, it only skims the surface of ikebana. Although I did learn a few techniques like how to hold traditional clippers properly (different from western floral design) as well as the 3 main points/heights & angles related to the design principles. It seems the people who get the most out of this course return on a weekly basis to practice. I will be buying a book to learn further about the technique in more detail.

The class is advertised as 1.5 hours but only last an hour and really the teaching was only about 30 minutes.

Students are expected to work independently and the teacher is not particularly attentive to more regular students. Still, it is a great deal for floral design practice and I continue to attend regularly.

Disappointing as the bare twig was not inviting to work with as a beginner - would have preferred the cherry blossom which would have been more encouraging.
Difficult to follow the instructress.

Hard to understand instructor's English. Hidden cost of materials increased cost by almost 50%. Will not return

This class is a great intro to ikebana. Casual but fun, especially after a few classes (3 or 4), when you get to start having more freedom to be creative

This review is for the Ikebana (flower arrangements) class on 7/16/16. I came here with a group of girlfriends because we thought a 1.5 hour class for $20 + $8 materials fee was a deal. Hmmmm.... Questionable.
The instructor seemed knowledgeable, but couldn't speak English AT ALL. She couldn't answer any of our questions. We were basically stuck with a diagram with Japanese words spelled out in English. Well, good luck doing flower arrangements! That was the entire class.
The instructor walked around trying to help people but to be honest I really didn't understand what we were doing. We simply cut the flowers and branches and did our best to follow the diagram.
Thankfully my friends and I made the most out of it and took tons of selfies but we walked out of the class not learning anything new. We got to keep the flowers at least.
Overall, it was a fun way to spend a morning, but I'm not sure that I would recommend the class to anyone. If you're in the area and want to check it out, go right ahead but please don't go out of your way for the class.

This was a great class with very personalized attention - as a novice, I got extra help, while the more advanced students could work on their own and get assistance when needed too. I learned a lot and had fun - would like to go back!

Very friendly and knowledgeable teacher. What I really liked was that you do not have to worry about your your own level of knowledge. The teacher gives individual advise depending how often you have been there and how advanced you are. I will definately come back.
