Sushi & Dumplings (BYOB)

I am extremely disappointed with the experience I had with this business. We were delayed by unforeseen traffic and arrived slightly late, but instead of being understanding or accommodating, we were refused participation in the class we paid for. To make matters worse, they kept our payment and only offered a credit, forcing us to spend more money to use it. This feels like a blatant lack of customer care and a poor business practice. They had an opportunity to resolve this professionally by allowing us to reschedule or even join the remaining class time, but instead chose to disregard our situation entirely. I cannot recommend this business due to their unprofessional and dismissive behavior.

Jade said the class was a lot of fun. It was close to her home. The instructor was so kind and patient. All of the classmates got along and enjoyed making sushi too. The sushi portions were plentiful. It was enough for dinner and lunch. She’s looking forward to attending future sessions.
Fresh Handmade Pasta (BYOB)

The chef and his staff did a great job teaching us how to create a homemade pasta dinner from scratch. The instruction started with a visual instruction, then we were on our own (group-wise) to replicate what the chef did. The additional staff were friendly and helpful floating around to see how we were progressing and answer any questions we may have had.
Bring a friend, date or come on your own....everyone is friendly and don't forget to bring a bottle of wine to enjoy your nice dinner with.
TIP: bring a shopping bag if you want to take home leftovers.

Staff and facilities were great but food was -really- bad.
Filling for the dumplings was ok but they were baked and so dry and hard it was really disappointing. Sushi rice was undercooked some grains were still crunchy, poorly seasoned (it was prepared), and picky stick tasted like plain flour with sugar. Yuk yuk. Such a disappointment ?
Nonetheless we learnt some useful skills like shaping dumplings and peeling ginger and the kids had a great time so it wasn’t a waste of time.

My 4 year old daughter and I had a great time. She really enjoyed learning how to make the cupcake from scratch. Her favorite part was putting decorating the fondant. We will definitely come back for more classes!

I thought the instructor was thorough and helpful. He gave great tips. The menu was perfect.
The offer of pita bread was a bit stingy considering how much hummus and tzatziki we made. In addition, it would have been great to leave with a link to the recipes.

Spanish Paella (BYOB)
Anonymous review on 4/20/2024
I loved the space and the atmosphere. We had a great time but the class was too short for the amount of cooking. I’d recommend to add 30 minutes to the class duration. Chef Vincenzo was great with the explanations and very helpful. I really like him. About the recipes: The Quesada was great, easy to make a full of flavor with great taste. The paella and croquetas recipes need some adjustments to resemble a real Spanish versions: I recommend to use a “fumet de pescado”or chicken broth for the paella to add flavor because it was pretty bland and it would help to cook it in a real paella pan. Don’t get me started with the croquetas: I think that, because you can’t fry them there, you made adjustments to the recipe - the panko breadcrumbs is a great idea for cooking in the oven- but 1) that bechamel needed way more milk and some onion; 2)definitely less chorizo that make them really greasy; 3) the manchego is a great idea when you’re not using enough milk to make them “juicy” but, with that big amount of chorizo, the result is too filling and not smooth. I’d recommend to use ham, chicken, spinach-goat cheese, or cod instead.
We had a great time with the couple that we cook with but, for me, being a Spaniard from La Mancha wanting to introduce my friend to cooking Spanish food, the recipes weren’t authentic enough. I hope this helps.
