Description

Rose Red and Lavender is a full service floral and event studio founded in 2008 by Kimberly Sevilla: scientist, Club Kid, designer, project manager, florist.

To elaborate, Kimberly’s early roots are in Chemistry and Biology, and worked creating GMOs for the USDA in West Virginia. Fascinating as it may have been, Kimberly left for New York City to pursue her dream of being a Club Kid. In her ascent to Club Kid fame, she inadvertently became an international designer  creating 3D environmental projections with virtual imaging for events, museums and retail displays and later, innovative techniques for retail displays and event design production.  Her clients included Chanel, Burberry, Cartier, Cole Haan, Barney’s, Calvin Klein, the Smithsonian Museum, the American Museum of Natural History, the City of Shanghai, Deutsche Bank, Reebok, Pepsi, Coty, MAC Cosmetics, and the NFL.

After many years of traveling the world creating elaborate events and displays, Kimberly decided it was time to get back to her roots of working with plants and flowers, but the un-engineered kind. Thus Rose Red & Lavender came to be, a sweet, little plant and flower shop in Williamsburg, Brooklyn.

Our Floral design classes are taught by industry veterans with decades of experience working with the largest design companies in New York. They are fun and all classes are BYOB

Instructor had good energy but the building was still being renovated and someone was spraypainting the elevators! The location is not ideal and the class can be 60 minutes instead of 90.

This class was so much fun! There wasn't as much blood and guts as i thought which was great for an intro to taxidermy. Teacher is very knowledgeable and was very attentive. My mouse was so cute and he is now posing as santa in a sleigh for my Christmas decorations!

Not very educational thought we would learn more about the flowers we were using for the bouquet. The teacher did not seem confident in her teaching. It also seemed very over priced as the bouquet we made would cost no more then $30 dollars at a store. Upside the flowers were pretty.
  • Flower Crown Workshop

Was really looking forward to this class. However, the shoppe is tiny and filled with indoor & outdoor greenery. The outside area lead to a tiny work area, which is next to another work space under ( much needed) construction. There were a dozen people all crammed together STANDING for an hour and 1/2 !!! Even though a fan was brought out it was much too hot and people were too close together! It made for an awkward experience. I was relieved to finish and leave.
