Advanced Code in One Day Remote Bootcamp

This course will build off of the knowledge students have gained in the Code in One Day Remote Bootcamp to build a more advanced understanding of HTML & CSS and to incorporate Javascript into their websites. 

Starting with variables, control flow, loops, functions, arrays, and objects, students will begin exercises that allow them to work with the DOM to interact with the browser. Students will build on their HTML & CSS foundation to update a webpage based off of user events and build scripts to handle interactivity on their site. 

After understanding the basic building blocks of the JS language, the afternoon will focus on advanced Javascript topics like templating with the Javascript and API’s. The day-long program will culminate in students having a responsive, interactive website that will query data from an API and display it dynamically on the page. We will host our website on Github.

Preparation
Students should have a basic knowledge of HTML & CSS for this course. They should understand how to create files using a text editor and have basic technical literacy of how to open files in a text editor and in their browser. If you are a beginner in HTML & CSS, we recommend that you start with the Code in One Day Bootcamp.

For this Online Bootcamp students will need to: Download Visual Studio Code Text Editor Sign up for a free Github Account

• This course will occur completely online using Zoom and Slack
• You will need access to a laptop or computer with a working webcam and microphone as well as a strong internet connection
• Pre-work and course set up information will be emailed to all students signed up around 24 hours before (and again an hour before) your course launches
