Class Description

Description

Do you have a brilliant and hilarious concept for a groundbreaking comedy series? If so, this Online TV Comedy Pilot Writing Workshop was created specifically for you.

Jack Kukoda, an accomplished television writer and co-executive producer on the acclaimed series Murderville and the Emmy-winning ensemble comedy Superstore, will lead you through his creative process. He shares his professional insights for building the foundational elements of your show, discovering comedic moments and humor hooks, and developing memorable characters that audiences will want to follow throughout multiple seasons. Through interactive lectures and Jack's direct feedback on your pilot concept, you will construct the underlying structure and emotional core of your series while establishing the personalities and voices of your primary characters.

By the end of this intensive course, you will have completed a carefully crafted beat-by-beat outline of a compelling comedy pilot that positions you ready for the writers' room. (The laugh track remains optional.)

Our alumni achievement record is noteworthy: 400 writers have been hired for staff positions, and 173 have earned prestigious fellowships at major networks, including ABC, Disney, CBS, and NBC, following completion of our television writing courses.

Guidance for New Students: If this marks your first television writing class, we highly recommend supplementing this course with TV Dramedy 101 and TV Structure for Pilot Writing to build comprehensive foundations in the craft.
