Lighting to Beautify the Home addresses techniques that enhance the appearance, comfort and convenience of residential lighting, focusing on color, contrast, and controls.
We cover how light, both shades of white and colors, affects the appearance and wellbeing of people, as well as the perception of spaces. Using the principle of contrast, particpants consider how to highlight artwork and architectural features for create dramatic accents in the home.
Lighting controls – like controls in all aspects of our lives – are increasingly important. Participants apply different control strategies to social, working, and circulation spaces.
The Certificate provides a focused approach to the practical side of residential lighting for designers and others interested in improving the luminous experience in the home.
