This is a new series of virtual classes offered for homeschooled students. Each class offers one lesson which will meet specific state and national Visual Art Education standards. More importantly, classes are fun and engaging for young artists of all abilities.
9/20 Exploring Still Life Drawing
Students will build their own still life set up, then create a realistic colored drawing. We will have lots of fun finding the just-right household objects! A great way to practice drawing from direct observation.
Materials needed: 6 sheets of white drawing paper 9”x12” or larger, pencil+eraser, colored pencils or crayons.
9/27 Exploring Abstract Drawing
Students will experiment with different types of lines and shapes to create a colorful abstract drawing. This is a great confidence-booster for artists of all abilities!
Materials needed: a few sheets of 9x12” white drawing paper, pencil+ eraser, any coloring supplies like markers, crayons, colored pencils, etc.
10/4 Exploring the Art of Yayoi Kusama
Students will learn about the contemporary artist Yayoi Kusama and create artwork inspired by her style. There will be polka dots for sure!
Materials needed: white drawing paper (9x12 or larger), pencil+eraser, either tempera paints, oil pastels, or crayons.

Please make sure that Google Meet is installed on the computer that the child will be using for the class.
How To Participate
You will receive an email 30 minutes before class starts with a link to the class and access instructions.
This course is available for "remote" learning and will be available to anyone with access to an internet device with a microphone (this includes most models of computers, tablets). Classes will take place with a "Live" instructor at the date/times listed below.
Upon registration, the instructor will send along additional information about how to log-on and participate in the class.
