Robin Humphreys

Robin Humphreys is a glass and mixed-media artist in the Americus, GA area. Humphreys has been studying and experimenting with a variety of glass techniques since 1996, when she was first introduced to the hot glass process of flame working. Robin Humphreys received her BFA in Glass from Massachusetts College of Art & Design in 2009. She began teaching flame working in 2007 at Boston's Diablo Glass School and then at Public Glass of San Francisco from 2010-2013. Presently, Humphreys teaches flame working at a variety of locations around the country. Robin Humphreys has also been pursuing yoga, meditation, and energy healing practices since 2004, and has been teaching meditation & conscious breathing techniques since 2013. She finds that hot glass is a process which can quickly illuminate one's creativity and self-confidence, as well as one's personal challenges and limitations. Keeping an open and curious mind, glass working can become a wonderful process for introspection and self-discovery. In her own work, Humphreys examines the unique optical properties of glass, and draws inspiration from natural forms and personal pursuits including meditation and quantum physics.
