Pop Music Breakdown: "Paranoid Android"

The class introduced music theory in a helpful way, but in the second part we did not dive into the music theory of the record enough. We went through each section of the song, but the insights were surface level (e.g. "a faster time signature creates a sense of urgency" or "these two chords don't sound good together separately, but it works in the song") and the instructor did not seem to know the meaning behind many of the lyrics (we were encouraged to share our thoughts, then the instructor always brought the conversation back to "yes, it seems to fit in with theme of crisis/chaos in the rest of the song"). Perhaps the class is designed this way, but I felt that it was not worth my time. Based on this class experience, I would not attend another Pop Music Breakdown class.
