Teaches at Leah Koontz

I have a BFA is Fine Art and a Masters in Museum Education. I see Tarot as a tool which we can use to tap into our knowing. I believe that you already have the answers you are seeking, but the Tarot can help bring these answers to the surface. My approach is collaborative and uses visual inquiry and discussion to dive deeply into messages from the Tarot and our individual intuition.

In my personal viewpoint, it was obvious our instructor was well informed in her talent and wanted to share as much as she could in our short course. I would hope to have a part III session. Thank you, very informative.

While the time devoted to political correctness, the teacher’s personal story and discussion of how and what people wanted to learn was nice and would have been perfect for a semester long college course. However, it felt like it took up more of the class time than content on tarot. Also, it did not seem like the entire class fully understood topics like identifying personal pronouns or the concept of occupying stolen land and there certainly wasn’t enough time to explain those topics when there wasn’t even time to learn each other’s names. I really wanted to leave the class with a basic idea of how to do a tarot reading so I could practice and I left feeling disappointed as I hadn’t learned anything of the sort. I feel like that goal (if indeed that was the intended purpose of the class) could have been better accomplished if the teacher had done a sample reading of the major arcana with the students participating by giving explanations of when the cards they were told to study popped up. The teacher was clearly extremely well versed and knowledgeable so it seemed like a shame to leave the class without feeling like I had gained any usable knowledge.

i Liked your class. I hope tarot 102 will go through how to intrepet all the cards.. I have a tarot book. and its somewhat makes sence, but you give a little extra. so I enjoyed the class, and I am now going to practice and write down all my impressions. I also have to figure out how to ask the questions more clearly. I realize I cannot be vague in the question.

To make the short seminar efficient, I would suggest that Ms. Koontz provide us with the ground rules for the meeting and keep it going. There is also no need to talk about he/she pronouns in this space.

Leah’s class was great, she made a genuine effort to create an inclusive space and I love that participants were encouraged to find the right tarot deck. We weren’t limited to the standard SRW deck or symbolism. Am looking forward to 102.

I didn't even want to give it one star, because I never got to take the class. At the time of the class, I clicked the Zoom link but the instructor never let me into the Zoom meeting. I don't know if she just didn't bother or if the class was cancelled or what. I wrote to coursehorse explaining the problem and asked to either be transferred to another session or given a refund (this was 3 days ago). I never heard back from anyone. If I don't hear back from someone and get this issue resolved, I will NEVER take another course through you, either virtual or in-person. I know things are difficult now with everyone working from home, but SOMEBODY should be checking and responding to emails in a more timely manner. Thank you! Elizabeth

While Leah is clearly passionate and knowledgeable about Tarot, I feel like class time wasn’t used efficiently for my purposes. I wanted to learn how to read so for me jumping right into practice would have been more helpful than the A lecture on the history. I think within a digital learning environment it is essential that lecturing be kept to a minimum. Students need the space to talk and to practice.

Thank you so much for the class. My biggest takeaway is to pay attention to the artwork. It has been so many years that ive been pulling a card a day that I am very familiar with the cards meanings via looking it up and researching what has been written but now I think also including what the most common/traditional visual presentation is for the card can really open up deeper interpretation and reflection.

Leah is very knowledgable. I liked her approach of focusing on the images in the cards. I would suggest limiting the individual participant introductions at the beginning of the call/class - there were too many people on the call and this took a lot of time. I liked the break out session - very cool way to connect with other participants.

Tarot 101 was a nice, very brief introduction to the tarot. It was really too short to really explore the material so in that respect I was a little disappointed with the lack of more content. Instructor was very knowledgeable, organized and conducted the class well. She did mention she was going to provide us with some resources which I have not received yet. I’m hoping that will be coming in the next few days.

I really liked the class overall , and the instructor was knowledgeable, but I didn’t like spending 10+ minutes on the introduction of guests. If the instructor wants to know why we r there, have the question in the registration form. Also, I would have wanted to hear her more than the class participants. I get it, interpretation is important, I just didn’t want to hear other beginners, I wanted to hear insight from the instructor.

I thought I was going to be taught how to read the cards! That didn’t happen. The group discussed what the cards meant to them. They may nothing to me because I don’t know anything about the cards. I know the history of them where they came from how many years they’ve been around where they came from blah blah blah blah but I don’t know how to read them and that’s why thought the class was about. She was a very nice person ..But I had to tune out after about 40 minutes into it . I didn’t know what the hell they were talking about! I couldn’t say much because I was not able to get in unmuted to ask..what’s happening here..???

Most of the class was spent waiting on, and getting to know other classmates as well as setting up weird rules for the class. The teacher stated she'd only been into tarot for a year?! What makes her qualified? I didn't learn anything new in the class. Everything she taught us i learned from 20 minutes of research online the day before.
