Kelly Speer & Isa Betancourt

Teaches at Caveat

Kelly Speer (@KellySpeer) is a bat biologist and parasitologist at the American Museum of Natural History’s Richard Gilder Graduate School. Currently, Kelly is working on parasites of bats and their associated symbiotic and commensal bacteria to examine environmental factors and bat ecological traits that contribute to spread of disease in bat communities.

Isa Betancourt (@isabetabug) enthusiastically handles 100 year old dead insect and spider specimens daily for her job at the the Academy of Natural Sciences of Drexel University. When not in the collection, you can find her wading around a center city Philly fountain sweeping up the bugs for her urban biodiversity research. Follow her on twitter, instagram, and periscope!
