Knife Skills was a great class! The Brooklyn Kitchen is a cute store and was easy to get to. The instructor was funny and knowledgeable. I learned a lot about knives and cuts and when to use them. The work space was a bit cramped and I had to move around to see the instructor better. (Disclaimer, the guy next to me was huge!) I'd would take another class here.

Knife skills with Ken was fantastic. We are complete novices in the kitchen, and Ken was a wonderful teacher and taught so much in just a few hours! My onion chopping skills are insane now!

We are visiting New York from out of town. This was a great way to see the local side of the city and bring back recipes that will remind us of our trip!

Ken, the instructor, is amazing, he has the experience necessary to make you feel very confident that everything he's saying is the way things are done in a restaurant kitchen.

  • Pasta: Basics

    Anonymous review on 3/29/2015
Ken was a great instructor! He made it really fun and interesting and this is coming from someone who hates being in a kitchen. We had a chance to make our own dough and use the pasta maker, all while enjoying beer and wine throughout the night. The instructor shows you how to make two different pastas and sauces and you have two full pasta dishes to try at the end of the class. You come home with pasta dough that you make in class and recipes. So fun!

Ken, the instructor, is a natural teacher and a great help to anyone wanting to make their own kitchen a place of skill and knowledge. I learned more in 10 minutes than I had known ever before about carving up a chicken. 5 stars. The Brooklyn Kitchen in Williamsburg was a great location with plenty of space for the class and a store downstairs that has to be explored, and explored more than once. 5 stars.

I loved the class and look forward to taking part 2 sometime soon. Ken was an effective teacher with a good sense of humor. Despite the full class, he managed to give us all individual attention and time.

Ken was a fantastic instructor. He really focused in on a few key techniques that really make a big difference when deboning a fish or chicken. I think we all noticed significant improvement in our outcomes even just between the first and second half of each animal. I would definitely take another class with Ken. I would also definitely return to Brooklyn Kitchen. The second floor instruction space is great, and on the first floor they a grocery and kitchenwares shop that has a number of great specialty goods. I'm looking forward to my next class there.
