Teaches at New York Yoga

Johnson is a Yoga Alliance registered Vinyasa Instructor and received his training from the Joschi Yoga Institute. He also has studied with the sagacious yogis David Life, Sharon Gannon, and Master Duncan Wong of Yogic Arts. Currently, Johnson serves as a full-time faculty member and space coordinator at Studio Anya where he received additional training with Courtney Bauer, creator of the AUM curriculum, a neo-yogic multi-disciplinary integration of Yoga/Pilates and Thai bodywork. He is trained to teach the AUM curriculum in Yoga and Pilates Apparatus. Johnson also holds a certification in Thai Massage of the Ashokananda lineage, which successfully integrated traditional Thai bodywork into the public sphere of accepted alternative healing practices in North America. Having a strong background in theatre, he received his BFA in Acting from SUNY Purchase. As a part of his Acting training, he was immersed into the studies of yoga, modern dance, Alexander Technique, the Feldenkrais Method and Clown; all of which over time has deepened his kinesthetic instincts when approaching not only the human condition, but the anatomical wonders of the human body. His classes will move you through an invigorating flow with a focus on continual attention to the breath and alignment.
