Hayne Kim

Teaches at Music Beans

Hayne Kim, a native of Lansing, Michigan, began her studies on the violin at the age of ten. Six years later she made her Carnegie Hall debut with a solo performance as a selected participant of the American Fine Arts Festival. Her love of performing has put her on numerous stages both at home and abroad. Her most recent engagement took her to Viterbo, Italy where she appeared as a soloist with the Tuscia Operafestival Orchestra under the baton of Stefano Vignati. As a chamber musician and member of the New York City-based Opus Nine Ensemble, Ms. Kim has performed in several different configurations of that group throughout the city. She is also an active supporter of contemporary music and has premiered many works by colleagues. Ms. Kim was fortunate to receive influence from both the Galamian and Russian traditions of violin pedagogy under her teachers Lyman Bodman, Dmitri Berlinsky, and Grigory Kalinovsky. She holds a Bachelor's degree from the Manhattan School of Music where she was the recipient of the Vice President's Award. Some of her non-musical interests include literature, foreign languages, and modern art; her primary goal in teaching young students is allowing them to realize their potential in combination with their own unique interests.
