VERONICA FIEIRAS was born in Buenos Aires, she lived in Madrid from 2000 to 2019 and is currently based in Argentina. She is a photographer, photography educator, editor and founder of CHACO: an independent publishing house that focuses on Latin American authors. Since 2006 she is a member of Efti, International Photography and Film Centre based in Madrid, Spain. She delivers international photography and book-making workshops, sharing her understanding of bookmaking as a creative and hands-on journey to be undertaken step-by-step with the author/ artist. The photobook as expressive medium in itself, a space to reinterpret and translate bodies of work. Socio-political issues are a focal point in her work as editor and maker of photobooks. She has curated 3 exhibitions that put the focus on the process and conceptualization of photobooks. She now lives in Buenos Aires where she coordinates Escuela Migra: an independent, non-binary hub for knowledge exchange with the image at its centre.
