Filippo Fossati

Teaches at National Academy School of Fine Arts

Filippo Fossati was born in Turin, Italy. Coming from a family of artists, art historians and art dealers, Fossati started working in the art world at a very young age. He worked as an art publisher and art-dealer in Italy were he started his first publishing enterprise Il Quadrante in 1983 and opened his own gallery in 1988. He came to the United States in 1996. He was the co-owner of the Esso Gallery in New York City for fifteen years, founder and director of a number of art magazines such as Mostre e Musei, Contemporanea, Impresa per l’Arte, Ground Art and Culture, Inside, and has organized more than three hundred exhibitions worldwide working with artists of great renown. Among other activities, Mr. Fossati currently manages artist’s studios and he is an advisor to many international private collections.
