Erica is a founding member of The Burnt Asphalt Family, an artists’ collective with the mission to create unique, performance-based “installations” that reinvent objects and redefine the relationships of audience and performer, observer and participant. “Each installation activates its space at the crossroads between art, craft, and design, through innovative techniques like hot-glass cooking demonstrations, shared meals and edible sculptures. The Burnt Asphalt Family has performed throughout the United States including at the Corning Museum of Glass and the Chrysler Museum of Art.

Jessica Jane Julius has been dedicated for 15+ years to the arts as an artist, educator, collaborator, and performer. Currently she is an Assistant Professor in Glass at Tyler School of Art, Temple University. Currently she is an Assistant Professor in Glass at Tyler School of Art, Temple University. She is the co-founder and an active member of the artists’ collective and performance group The Burnt Asphalt Family. They have performed at prestigious venues across the country including The Studio at Corning Museum of Glass, The Chrysler Museum, and Urban Glass. Her mixed media works have been exhibited nationally the Philadelphia Museum of Art, The Museum of American Glass in Millville, New Jersey, and Pilchuck Gallery in Seattle, Washington. Her work has been selected numerous times for publication in New Glass Review, Glass Magazine and she has been awarded residencies at The Creative Glass Center of America in Millville, New Jersey, and The Museum of Glass in Tacoma, Washington.
