Christopher Raccioppi

Teaches at National Academy School of Fine Arts

Christopher Raccioppi is a New York based artist whose disciplines include sculpture, draftsmanship and illustration, with a primary focus on the human figure. For his undergraduate studies he attended California Institute of the Arts and School of Visual Arts and for master degree studies he attended New York Academy of Art. He also completed a stone carving apprenticeship in Carrara, Italy and a seven year apprenticeship with master anatomist Frank Porcu. Raccioppi’s interdisciplinary understanding of studio practices and expertise in anatomy and the structure of the human figure has been a valuable asset both in professional and educational contexts Raccioppi teaches artistic anatomy, sculptural and drawing practices at the Art Students League of New York and New York University.
