I’m unimpressed with this course. My preference in these types of crash courses as that you get as much as you can from the instructor. Unfortunately, this class was unengaging and would have learned more if I invested in a Lynda or skillshare membership. This feedback is strictly based on the style of teaching. I found that certain things about this class were unique given the style of the instructor. For example, I found that having all the lessons on word press readily available was a nice touch. I found his attention to detail on helpful tools and resources were great bonuses to the class. I also love that he records all of the classes for us to reference on later. However, I found that the way the class time was broken up was not productive, at all. The first 15-30 minutes of each class would be an individual exercise of the skill we’d be learning in class. Next few minutes would be a stand-up-and-walk-around-gallery-viewing of everyone’s work on seeing how each person tackled the exercise. Next, we spend about 15-20 minutes watching YouTube or Vimeo on artists that demonstrate work similar to the exercise we’d be learning in the class. Then the next hour or so, we’d focus on an in-depth understanding of how to use the skill in real life. Short break. Following the break, we’d spent at least 30+ minutes looking at everyone’s’ homework on screen where there’d be zero constructive feedback. Then the remaining class time would be spent on learning alternative methods on the lesson of the day. I felt that this class was slightly all-over-the-place, not well prepared for, and absolutely unchallenging. I took this class to learn HOW to create motion graphics, not watch it. I found that if I wasn’t watching a YouTube video or someone’s homework...I was watching the instructor go through the whole lesson, only to allow us to replicate it once or twice. The pace of this class just did not make sense. I know that I could have 100% done more to motivate myself in the class based on what was given, but felt that this style was slightly lazier compared to what I am used too.

As a working professional, this was a great course. The instructor was patient, clear, insightful, and most important of all, willing to take extra time out to help you perfect whatever skill was being taught that day. Although not necessary, I would suggest you get some familiarity with Photoshop.
