Alicia Martinson

Teaches at Actors Connection New York

Alicia is a passionate arts educator who loves bringing creativity and enthusiasm to her students at The Art Studio NY. As an artist who specializes in children's art education, Alicia's art classes empower her students to be creative and to find their artistic voice while teaching a variety of artistic concepts and technical skills. She believes the arts are an important medium for exploration, creativity, imagination, and fun! Alicia has served as the lead art teacher in several art-based preschool programs, and she believes that early childhood education and hands-on art experiences go hand in hand. 

Originally from Minneapolis, Alicia graduated from The Evergreen State College with a concentration in Art and Social Justice. Alicia knows that art is a powerful tool for building community, transformation and social change. She has directed and created several community mural projects internationally and in Washington, including a 1000 square-foot multi-media mural project with hundreds of images submitted from around the world. 

Alicia describes herself as a big “people person”, and she truly loves working and creating with people of all ages through children's art classes and adult art classes in New York City. In her own artwork, Alicia enjoys creating linoleum and wood block prints, and she is inspired by portraits and natural imagery.
