Miss Aik Hooi Lee has always had a passion for music and a strong enthusiasm for teaching. In her nine years of teaching, she has taught students of a wide range of abilities. She believes that music can act as a medium to bond, connect and develop a unique teacher-student relationship. Born in Malaysia, Aik Hooi began piano lessons at the age of six. She graduated with the Masters of Music in Piano Pedagogy from West Virginia University (WVU) in May 2010 and had obtained a Bachelor of Music majoring in Piano Performance from University of Putra Malaysia (UPM) in November 2007. Her teaching experience is focused on private piano lessons, small group classes. During her nine years of teaching, she had taught children as young as 5 years old to adult learners of 52 years old. Back in Malaysia, Miss Lee performed in many solo and ensemble piano performances; played the clarinet and percussion in orchestras, and she also extended her talents in dance performances. Being an educator is in itself an immense responsibility which requires not only knowledge of the teaching subject but also the capability to adapt suitable ways and methods while teaching different personalities. As a music educator, Miss Lee tries to use the best approach in teaching music so that the process of teaching and learning is enjoyable, progressive and motivating for both student and teacher.
