David Martin

Teaches at Jeff Lawrence/Laughing Buddha Comedy

David Martin has been performing comedy in New York for over a decade now. Trained in improv and sketch at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre, he performed in innumerable sketch and improv shows, winning an ECNY Award for Best Sketch Show with the group Police Chief Rumble. David also hosts and produces the storytelling show The Nights of Our Lives which has featured such comedians as Chris Gethard, Adam Pally, Chelsea Peretti, Jon Gabrus, John Mulaney, Nick Kroll, and Adam Wade. Outside of The Moth, it is the longest running storytelling show in New York. David also wrote a book called Officespeak which was published by a real publisher: Simon & Schuster. He writes that to lend some legitimacy to a book which can now be purchased for .01 on Amazon. He also appeared on Jeopardy!. And came in last place. This is a sad story which can never be made funny. David also worked in the book publishing industry for many many years, working with many remarkable authors (references upon request) so, all kidding aside, he can actually teach you how to shape a story and how to make it funny.
