City WingTsun is a martial arts school that offers the finest real-world kung fu instruction available in New York City. Simply put, WingTsun Kung Fu is a vehicle for you to realize your goals, be it self-defense, fitness or just a boost of confidence to get you through your day. Our general classes offer a well-rounded curriculum to help you achieve your goals. For you hard-core types with specific goals such as instructor training or fighter classes, we offer intensive classes for you guys as well.
City WingTsun is run by Sifu Alex Richter and his enthusiastic staff of WingTsun fanatics and devotees. The main HQ of City WingTsun is located in Midtown Manhattan with satellite class locations in East Village, Brooklyn, Queens, and more in planning.
Mission
City WingTsun is a martial arts school dedicated to excellence. We are dedicated to developing confidence, higher fitness, awareness and peace of mind for our students. We do this while maintaining the traditions of Chinese martial arts – respect, discipline and courtesy. But at the same time we have a very modern approach in terms of teaching methods, training protocols and class structure. Our goal is to show the beauty of real Chinese martial arts without all the mysticism that has plagued and hindered Chinese martial arts from moving forward.
Instructor Team
City WingTsun has a fantastic motley crew of motivated instructors and assistant instructors. From Hollywood stuntman, lawyers, archivists and BMX riders, no kung fu school has a team as diverse as ours.
