NYC’s new Lotus-Leaf Painting Workshop
Brought to NYC by Tristan de Terves, Himapan Studio brings eastern art to the western canvas. In intimate lotus-leaf painting classes, the instructor shows students how to paint on a canvas of preserved lotus leaves, meticulously created by hand in Thailand. By the end of the session, guests create a stunning, colorful artwork which looks great hung on their wall. Himapan was founded in Bangkok, and the artistic approach is firmly rooted in Thai culture. While they run successful workshops across the world, this is the first time these classes are offered in the US.

Lotus Leaf Painting Workshop
This is a great novice painting class because there is a high percentage the resulting painting will look nice. If you have a good color sense and some artistic skills, it likely will look better than nice and you would feel happy to hang it up! My instructor was beyond fabulous!! This was so much fun and I highly recommend it! -

So loved this class; it was just what I needed after a stressful work week! The instructor was amazing and guided us through how to paint with brushes and sponges. There were so many color possibilities, plus beautiful canvases and photos that inspired me to use different shades of blues.
