Together with our community, Marlene Meyerson JCC Manhattan creates opportunities for people to
connect, grow, and learn within an ever-changing Jewish landscape.
Marlene Meyerson JCC Manhattan imagines Jewish life that is diverse and engages meaningfully with
its values, culture, and ideas in our everyday lives.
Marlene Meyerson JCC Manhattan, while we are a Jewish community center, nothing about our art classes are religious and all are welcome in our building at all times.
The class is exceptional in the amount of individual attention the teacher gives. You decide what you want to focus on and Gene will give you guidance and very practical help on your individual project. I saw a noticeable leap in my drawing due to his expertise. Others worked on collage, acrylic painting, portraits, and comics. The atmosphere is warm and supportive. I highly recommend this class for all levels! Laura M.
Wonderful class! I learn so much from Emily, the instructor, every semester, and have 7 pairs of handmade shoes over the past couple of years to show for it!
Best class in NYC
Susan is the best teacher ever! Love the class!
Anne is an amazing instructor and is really great at explaining and showing, rather than just modeling or telling how to so something. Such a fun class, and I learned a ton!!
Amazing class! If you want to learn shoes - come. Basically you get work at your own pace individualized instruction in shoemaking. If I can afford to (and this is the best bang for you buck class in NYC) I will keep re-enrolling in this class, as I learn something new with each pair of shoes I make
The output of the class is great - you learn a new skill and finish with a real, wearable shoe. But the other students are the best part of the class. People come from all sorts of backgrounds (finance, artists, writers, engineers, fashion, medicine, students) and it is inspiring to see their creativity and how each person's personality comes through in the shoes they've designed. More than I've experienced in any other class in New York, there is a real community that has been created in Emily's class.
First class taken ever, will continue taking them. Susan is great teacher.
Great intro to watercolors. The instructor provided a lot of examples of technique and gave us a good flavor of what the longer series would be. I would recommend this trial class
I thought it was a very useful. There was a range of skill levels from absolute beginner to skilled artist In our class and the instructor handled teaching to each of our levels very well. She was also very kind and fun to chat with.
