Git, a distributed version control system, is a fundamental tool in modern software development, allowing teams to effectively track and manage changes to projects over time.
GitHub is a code hosting platform for version control and collaboration. With over 28 million users and more than 57 million repositories, it is the largest host of source code in the world and has become the place to be if you want to collaborate with other designers and developers on open-source projects.
In this introductory workshop, you'll learn about the purpose of version control (specifically Git and GitHub), the history and importance of GitHub in the development community, the fundamental concepts of Git, and basic use cases and commands.
This workshop will be hosted online (Livestream) due to safety considerations, please check out the "Preparation" section on the bottom of this page. Registered participants will be notified in advance of this program with information on how to log in to the class.

This course will occur completely online using Zoom and Slack. You will need access to a laptop or computer with a working webcam and microphone as well as a strong internet connection. Pre-work and course set up information will be emailed to all students signed up around 24 hours before (and again an hour before) your course launches.
If you can't make it to a class/workshop, please email us at [email protected] at least 7 days before the scheduled event date. No refunds will be given after this timeframe.
In any event where a customer wants to cancel their enrollment and is eligible for a full refund, a 5% processing fee will be deducted from the refund amount.
