Looking to get your creative brain moving? Need a refreshing way to mix-up your writing? Then push away from your keyboard, get ready to put pen to paper, and come mingle with other writers in person!
Sip-N-Scribe is a fun evening of creative writing prompts, idea swapping, and drink-sipping. The goal is to experiment with something new on the page in an informal, relaxed way, all while enjoying an afternoon with your friends while making new ones.
Jenn Wehrung (Laugh It Up, Astoria!) and Kelly Jean Fitzsimmons (No, YOU Tell It!) will present a writing prompt, give it a fun twist, and encourage you to let your words flow!
No one is here to write the next Great American novel. But hey, if that happens, please include us in the special thanks! BYO Pen & Paper. Beer, wine, and non-alcoholic beverages will be available for purchase along with light snacks and pastries.

School Notes:
OUTSIDE FOOD & DRINKS ARE NOT ALLOWED. QED has coffee, tea, soda, beer & wine plus snacks and pre-made wraps and sandwiches available.
Refund Policy
- We require at least 8 business days notice before a class in order to issue a refund less 5% cancellation fee and there are no transfers to future classes allowed.
- Tickets are transferable meaning we will allow anyone to take your place in class, so check around with your friends to see if someone else would like your spot.
In case of bad weather, classes WILL always take place unless the subway system is closed down. If you have issues traveling, please keep this in mind when you purchase your ticket. If the school do cancel for an emergency, we will try to reschedule the class on the same day of the week at the same scheduled time as soon as possible. If you cannot make the rescheduled date, we will refund you the price of your seat.

I took Sip & Scribe because it was cheap but I was hoping it would still be valuable and that I would learn something from it. This class is not that. If you're looking for something fun/silly to do with your friends then go for it but if you're hoping to learn something then this is not for you. We were given a ridiculous prompt (write a letter to yourself from your favorite childhood toy) and then asked to switch papers with someone in the class and add to their story. When we switched back, we were given another ridiculous prompt (finish your story but with a surprise kiss. Seriously??) and then people volunteered to read aloud. I left with a weird, twisted story that promptly went in the trash.
